i believe
that my life's gonna see
the love i give
return to me
i found these kickass headphones in my room.
i feel like one of those hipster boys that walk around with their big bose headphones around campus.
fortunately i'm just using them before i go to bed.
i can't hear a thing!
WOOH!
except, of course, the beauty that is common+john mayer+kanye west.
anybody else think about how good the song "go" simply sounds? lyrics aside... it just sounds.. right.
which brings me to my point. there's so much underrated music that just sounds right. for me, more often than not, i feel that it's r&b and lesser known hip hop that gets most overlooked. obviously it's a matter of taste, but the layers seen in these two genres are ridiculous.
break you off by the roots.
how many people know that song?
not enough.
if you're reading this, you should take the time to listen to the following songs.. i feel like they're some of the best produced (contemporary) soulful tracks:
- estelle & john legend-you are
- musiq soulchild-babygirl
- anthony hamilton-do you feel me?
- van hunt-priest or police
- raphael saadiq & d'angelo-be here
- d'angelo-one mo'gin
- n*e*r*d-run to the sun
- common-come close
- q-tip-gettin' up
